Accidentally hitting the O key (instead of 0, for instance), or just forgetting that you had Proportional Editing enabled, is something that has probably tripped all of us up at some point (possibly even more than onceπ).
And also, like Wayne said, Kudos for including the video!
Thanks! It took me a while but I realized what I'd done. That was a real facepalm moment. :)
edit: I never would have expected proportional editing to affect the other objects that weren't selected at the time in the scene either. Learned something new there.
Don't worry accidental proportional editing catches a lot of people off guard.
But it actually works on the things that aren't selected based on the falloff distance (if things are selected - they move 100%)
The thing that likely caught you off guard is that in object mode it works on the origin points...not where the geometry is.
So the tyre and the Circle are actually both at 0,0,0 (even though the geo is further out from that point)
Hope that makes sense - but never facepalm yourself when you level up your knowledge.
Yesterday you didn't know any of this.
Now you know PLUS if someone else runs into the same issue you know how to help the out too.
That's not a facepalm moment - that's a chest bump moment.
Boo-ya!
