Knife not working as expected on the cartridge cut, then move face

Hi there, been following along to this tutorial with zero problems until i got to the part where you use the Knife Tool to cut the shape of the cartridge out

I follow along, doing as you do, but when i come to switch to the side view to drag the face down, it pulls more than just that part, as though it is somehow still connected to the otehr part we just cut it from

Stuck here and cannot move on without fixing this, but i have zero clue what has happened to make mine different to how yours moved down fine

    Hi Charlie,

Glad you figured it out. That is exactly how it's supposed to be done.

Not quite clear from the spoken text, but both the Screencast Keys and the Adjust Last Operation Panel tell you that that's what happened:

Yeah i kind of forgot to pay attention at that point, i was so into it lol

I found later that it was an earlier cut that caused it, it was not a straight cut, so had a pixel or two still attached that caused twisting to occur, and i was a bit miffed for a second or twenty, as i thought "oh dear, ive screwed this up now", "not sure i have enough undo's to get back to where i made the mistake", but i took cue from you guys and 3D Tudor too, (i am doing a course i purchased from him also "Stylised Environments with Blender Geometry Nodes") as you all look at the problem and try to find as optimal a solution as possible, albeit with much more experience than i have, but still, im happy that i tried, and i thought about what could work as a solution that wouldnt cause more issues, and thats what i landed upon

Glad to hear i was on the right track, and now i have also remembered that the more undo levels you have, isnt always better, but it helps in a pinch, even if it means redoing a lot of intricate work, although thankfully the Press-Start tutorial does not, but is a great little tutorial none-the-less

Thanks for responding and sorry for my delay getting back to you, i have been so engrossed in a course for a few days now that i forgot to look up to see there were message alerts lol, i shall pay more attention to the screen cast and the last operation dialog box too in future, completely forgot about those in the moment tbh
