Welcome to my Polybook
I've been dabbling in Blender on and off for over a decade — enough to feel comfortable, not enough to have finished anything worth showing. This polybook is my attempt to change that.
I'm working through the CG Cookie tutorial series with the intention of actually completing projects rather than bouncing between tools and never landing. If you've been in the same loop, you'll know the feeling.
This is a working log — progress, iterations, dead ends, questions. Feedback and critique are welcome at any stage. That's the point.
1. Modelling a Snowman from Primatives

2. Sci-fi Crate
Played with some Gundam-style line panelling and a couple of other small details.

Annnnd the Soccer Ball, i was actually pretty surprised how nice the shape came out with the modelling techniques used

Stoked over the results being very similar but the workflows and methods very very different. I used box cutter for the big cut outs but went granular for the vent holes so there is more GEO in mine and less reliance on active modifiers. I think I prefer the workflow covered in the tutorial, some great methods with the Bevel modifier and stacking them to have different effect on edges v bevels.
My biggest takeaway is that I learnt you could reference a collection as a Boolean target!
And the Coffee Mug + . SubD modelling is something i definatley need more practice with

And time for the cookie, I did, however, generate a similar yet different reference to see if I could apply the theory instead of just parroting along.

Doing a "similar, but different" is always a great idea! I often do that myself, and it really is a great way to make sure you're really understanding the material.
Thanks for pointing that out, Martin. I reopened the file and managed to get it back to a 5-sided pole. The other areas in the corners of the eyes were copying the same workflow used to push the lip up, in this case, trying to push the brows down.
Ah yep yep, took me a couple of looks and a second to pick it, but see it now, definitely need more practice!
