Inset boundary

When insetting on an square face beside the mirror boundary. The new face is not staying a perfect square.  The 2 vertex on the boundary are drawn together more smaller I make the new face. I want the new face to remain a rectangle. 

It worked when following the tutorial for the latch. However when trying to replicate the latches on the side to the top I am getting this unexpected outcome.

    Fixed it just needed to ensure "Offset Even" was checked when insetting the face.

    Was going to say if it's a square face but not insetting square, check for non-uniform scale.

    Without Offset Even enabled, Blender makes these Edges the same length:
