Bone Parenting and Lock Object Modes

Hi, I still don't get why "Lock Object Modes" needs disable when bone parenting.  What happen if "Lock Object Modes" is enabled when bone parenting.  If not for  bone parenting, is it better to enable "Lock Object Modes"? in all most situations?

    Hi Keswick kchow ,

My advice is, to disable 'Lock Object Modes' and keep it disabled. There are, as far as I know, only disadvantages of having it enabled.

What it does, is that if you have an Object in, say Pose Mode Selected, it won't let you Select any other Object, that isn't also in Pose Mode.

If you're Sculpting a head and have the eyes as Separate Object, you won't be able to Select the eyes whilte Sculpting the head to Move them slightly, for instance, because 'Lock Object Modes' would prevent that. When you disable it, You can Sculpt on the head and Select the eyes, that are in Object Mode. The head willl then temporarily be in Object Mode until you Select it again. This behavior might confuse or even scare 'beginners'. That is why the Option to 'Lock Object Modes' was added: to prevent beginners from freaking out😉
