This may be a topic for a future course, I'm not sure yet.
For this specific course I wanted to focus on the cabinet side of things and modeling the room on top would have blown up the scope of this course even more. I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future. 😉
In the mean time... think about how you could take what you learned in this course and apply it to other parts of doing a room. A lot of things will be the same, or very similar. (I'll adimit... I haven't gone all the way through this course... but my experience has been that often with a little thought, I can figure out how to apply what I learned from a tutorial or course to a larger or different, but similar type of project.)
Often, though, for a render, just some simple boxes and or planes can work for modeling the room itself and the magic just happens in the texturing.
