Most of what is covered in this course is applicable to new versions. Some hotkeys and UI elements may be changed/moved, but it still applies.Â
 a much older version
I don't think July of 2024 falls under "much older". Then again I'm pretty ancient. I've lived in 2 different centuries and 2 different millenniums :-)
And of course you can read this short thread if you're wondering about Blender versions:
https://cgcookie.com/community/18260-learning-through-different-versions-of-blender
It's a good read that clears up all the scary thing about versions of Blender. Spoiler alert, Blender versions don't matter that much.Â
The only true workflow shift that could trip up a beginner is:
Slotted Actions (introduced in 4.4)
For a beginner just learning the basics, this isn’t disruptive. But the video that specifically going over actions and the action editor I would follow along in 4.2 to understand what an action does and how animation data can be shared and used across your scenes. Once you have a grasp on that, jump into the recent release and experiment with this new slotted action feature.Â
Thanks guys for clearing up my confusion ❤️
Just kinda new to this software so looking at the UI felt like the version is much older whereas now ik it's not.
