Wrist Pain

Question Modeling

Hi guys! First time I've written something in here, so I don't know if it's the right place to ask this type of question.

When I use the mouse I feel uncomfortable and when I move the wrist I feel a bit pain and also cracky noise comes from it; last year I bought a vertical mouse but since then didn't change much; last week I started using the graphic tablet and with it sometimes I'm not feel pain or cracky noise and I feel comfortable and sometimes viceversa.

I dunno what I should do, if maybe I need some wrist exercise or warm up or the hand's glove.

Some advice? :)

Yeah I agree, doctor first and doctor only, not internet opinions. Let me google what are wrist doctors called.... An orthopedic hand specialists. The guy knows all about hands but I bet he can't draw one. Toughest thing ever.

As a neurosurgeon who mainly treats musculoskeletal conditions, I would first recommend considering whether your wrist pain could be related to any minor injuries or repetitive overuse from activities other than using the mouse.

If there is no such history, then mouse use itself could certainly be a contributing factor. The key issue is that when you hold a mouse, your wrist is often kept in a constant state of extension. Over time, this continuous extension can overload the extensor tendons and potentially lead to tendinopathy.

One practical approach is to place a supportive wrist pad under your hand so that your wrist stays in a slightly flexed position. Even a small degree of flexion allows the extensor tendons to relax, reducing unnecessary strain. Another good option to consider is switching to a vertical mouse, which can help minimize wrist extension during use.

I hope this explanation helps you better understand the mechanics behind your symptoms and gives you some practical strategies to try. Wishing you relief and a smooth recovery.

ssinyeong11 Thanks for the advice! Yeah, it's just the overuse of the mouse, I use it a lot of hours a day and before that I've never had this type of problem; I've also already used a vertical mouse for about 1 year but didn't do much. Cheers :)
