new measurement tool

Hi Sascha,

I finally finished the modeling part, thanks to the assistance of you and others, and I wanted to let everyone know about a new add-on I just discovered that has some pretty cool features [mostly in the last third of the video]:

This does what MeasureIt does, but with a few extra features that I think will save a lot of effort and hassle in all my Blender projects. And it's only $12 for the rest of August with discount code 30L8ODH [save $3, woo-hooo!].

    Hi Shale,

congrats on finishing the modeling phase.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to look into that add-on and see what other capabilities it has.
I do have another add-on called "Construction Lines", which does a lot of the same in terms of dimensions and snapping. Curious what other differences There are. 🤔

I think you'll be impressed with the features starting around the 10-minute mark in the video; a few things I could have used on this project!

Also, FYI, I made the architrave profile as a closed-loop bezier, which is great practice for working with curves.

When I converted it to mesh for extrusion, the vertex spacing was perfect.

If you do more courses like this, please include the trick you show in one of the videos on your channel, in which you cleverly use a lattice deform to arrange plants along a wall and fold their leaves against the wall, instead of letting the leaves intersect the wall and hope nobody notices...

Nice. Curves are definitely an option for that. 👍

I used to fear Blender curves until I discovered this playlist, and it all made sense:
