I guess the colors play a big part. I gave the white a greenish tint, to make it look more washed out and used.

Here's my latest projects from the course.

The hard drive I tried without the video and am proud to say, that I did most things as in the video. :)

However, I think later on I'll model it again to see if I remembered the things I did less efficiently.

For the cup I also played around with shading a bit more. 

I'm not completely new to blender, in fact I have been playing around with it for years, even before 2.8.
But now I'm taking the time to learn it more seriously. :)

Some areas could definitely be better, but that's good enough for me for now. :)
