If an assignment has in large orange letters "FREE SPACE, GO CRAZY" in the instruction video. Then am I right in thinking that the Instructor means that I can do ANYTHING in that specific part of the assignment?

Oh he also mentions it "free space, go crazy" at the beginning and end of the video.

I'm going to say yes. Of course there may also be a hidden meaning, like maybe space is currently not free and his statement is that space should be free and maybe a guy named Crazy is the one to do it and the instructor is encouraging him.

Maybe I completely misunderstood it, but I think this is about going from A to B and 4 diferent ways to get from A to B.

The fourth is a "free space, go wild", meaning it doesn't matter how you get from A to B, but you still need to get from A to B.
