Why is it necessary to recalculate normals?

Why is it necessary to recalculate normals? Like I think it doesn't matter if its red or blue (inside or outside) But I think I maybe wrong, so thats why I am asking this question why is it important to recalculate normals? what if we dont? I would appreciate your answer.

It is super important to recalculate your normals, otherwise Blender will get confused as to what the front and the back of the face is and it will cause all sorts of problems, be it with lighting calculations, modifiers, simulations, etc.

    HI Yousaf,

Inconsistent Normals can cause a lot of problems; here is an example of what happens, when you try to Bevel the highlighted Edges of the left Cube:
