weight paint setup

Question

Sorry I am not getting how to get into weight paint mode and be able to select bones at the same time. I can get into weight paint mode but I can not select any bones.

Can someone lay it out step by step as the video is going too fast for me to see how its done.

Select the armature, then shift select the mesh. And jump into weight paint mode.
If you disable Lock Object mode in the Edit menu, it makes this a little easier.

Thanks Wayne,

To answer my own question. Turns out it was not getting into weight painting mode was the problem. I just had to hold <OPTION> before trying to select any bones. Something I was missing in the videos. The problem was not getting into the right mode but how to select bones.
