How do you animate a color ramp so it wraps around?

I'd like to animate a color ramp but in a way so that the colors transition along the gradient continuously as you modulate the colors in only one direction. 

Is there a way to do this in blender? Maybe one approach is to put the end color at the start, but it seems like a clunky way to do it.
