Shapes not appearing

Hi

Following along with the video, I've made the speaker plane, pulled it to just above the surface of the console body, done the insets, moves and extruding.  I've created the speaker holes, moved them level with the top of the speaker object and done the copying, array, indentation, faces, etc.  And the holes only appear in x-ray mode.  The same is true of the speaker itself - only the bits above the body of the console are visible.  The holes, because they are level with the top of the speaker object, are not visible.  The indentations are inside the speaker body, under the surface.  The parts of the speaker object that are below top of the console body are hidden as well.  So the cut around the speaker doesn't really appear because it's filled with the console body.  How do I get things like the indented speaker holes to appear in the speaker rather than being below the surface?

Thanks

Delete the underlying Face from the console body, that is 'in the way'. This is also what is done in this Course if I'm not mistaken, but you might have missed that step.

In the video everything appears before any faces are deleted.  The speaker holes are there, visible, even though they're at the level of the speaker object, leaving the indentation inside the body of the speaker object.  That's not in x-ray mode, it's in solid mode.  How are they appearing in solid mode when no faces have been deleted?  I've watched these sections three times and there is no mention of deleting faces, but the speaker holes appear and the body of the console is not cutting through the speaker.

Can you give us some time stamps on the part of the video you are at? Also maybe some screenshots of your model of that same part in the video.

Here I have the speaker a little raised from the console body.  The holes have been joined, all faces created.  But the holes aren't visible without x-ray on.

Is there a delete somewhere else for the face of the speaker object?

Yes you have to delete that face. JL deletes it in the video at 4:35.
