On Measuring and Blocking, General Thoughts

Question Modeling

When measuring things to ensure they are the correct size or thickness, does anyone else see the general shape and start second guessing themselves despite knowing that the measurements are exactly what the tape says they are? It's especially like that for me with structural things like doors. I know that the doors are 3.5 cm deep, and about 1.98meters tall and 70 cm wide, but once the model is that shape something about it just looks wrong, and I have to be like "No, trust the process, you have it right. It'll look better when everything is in place."

Yeah that happens to me all the time. Tat is why it is ultra helpful to have a human size and shaped 3D model in the scene. It makes it so much easier to our senses to judge the scene. It's like a mental anchor of sorts. You can find models online for free.

Yeah, things can look off, when seen out of context, but when you know the measurements are correct, it'll probably look okay, when "everything is in place".

We're not used to seeing a door (for instance) floating in 'nothingness'. you can't even guess the Focal Length of the virtual Camera (or Viewport) and zooming in and out will totally distort how you see proportions, especially, if there is nothing to reference it against.
