Hello again,
I have another question, and I hope the resident experts can help. What do you recommend as far as a âgraphics drawing tablet w/ stylusâ for Windows/ PC? Iâm a little confused, there are so many optionsâ With or without screen, cordless or with cord, different sizes, and even different screen tactile sensations. Again, what do you suggest?
Thanks so much for your help.
I guess we always say the same thing, it's not a problem going for the most basic cheap Wacom Intuos one. I have had one for more than 10 years, works great. Kent always says he's had the same for more than 10 years, he's got the cheapest and most basic and he is a master sculptor with one of those. So the Tablet does not make the artist. If your budget allows, I guess you can go for the expensive ones, but still I would suggest starting with the cheap Intuos, you don't know if you'll sculpt a lot when you're starting and if you do start to sculpt a lot, when you change to a more pro expensive one, you can really then appreciate the difference and if if it's really worth the investment, because you've already had experience with the basic one.Â
I can vouch for a Wacom Intuos too! If anything, a cordless one just makes it easier to put it aside. As for size, medium was basically the only size I could find anywhere here where I live, but I think it's a perfect size. The pen also comes with backup nibs/tips inside it if you unscrew the end (which I didn't know when I went to buy new ones for the first time hah).Â
Omar is right, it's a good option for when you're just starting out and don't even know if you'll end up using it all that often - and it turns out I barely use mine. But for the times that I do, I think it was a great choice!
I used the Genesis W28 which was a really cheap one and it got the job done. I've just gotten a XP Pen display and I love it. The Genesis doesn't work on linux which is why I had to get another one. I'm trying to learn to draw which is why I choose one with a display. Note: display ones, at least for XP Pen, require an extra video port on the video card or a video splitter. I didn't know that when I bought it.Â
