Hello everyone,
I've recently tried downloading and updating Blender 4.3 from 4.1. It keeps on crashing every time I open up the software. What seems to be the issue? I've had this issue with the last update as well.
Another issue I'm having is I can't reinstall any assets zip files I've downloaded for 4.1 after going back to it now.
Hi Patrick,
I don't know why Blender crashes, but it often is a hardware issue. Check the requirements; https://www.blender.org/download/requirements/
You could also try to re-download Blender.
I have no idea what's up with your asset .zip files.
Most of the time update on Windows or MacOS fixes those sort of small issues. But if all else fails, you can easily work with 4.2 in the mean time. Often our brains gives us anxiety thinking we need to have the latest Blender or we're at a disadvantage, but it couldn't be father from the truth.
I don't know what OS you're using, but windows 11's 24h2 update is known to cause a lot of software to freeze and crash. Some games and Chinese tax software cause blue screen crashes. Try running blender from command line to see the error message. Also there should be a crash text file in the OS's temporary files folder. You may need to report it or add to an existing report.
