Dear Dennis, I have a Mac Pro (Intel chip) with AMD Radeon Pro Vega II, but after a lot of patching old AMD drivers, and having issues keeping up with Blender version updates, I decided that the best way is to invest in a Windows with Nvidia RTX, ... now I can 'blender' as a hobbyist with a smile :p and have a great performance boost. Life feels good now :-).
Mac + AMD: daily job environment
Win + Nvidia: happy hobby environment
*I don't know how the performance is on a Mac M1/2/3 in combination with an AMD GPU
