Forgetting to override?

In Chapter 3 of RIG - Blender's Character Rigging Playbook in the Add the Spine Controls video around timestamp 18:40 the instructor says:

"I'm going to add a chest shape to the chest bone. However, I forgot to override the display position before editing the shape."

What is the impact of forgetting to override the display position before editing the shape? Does this cause issues with the functionality of the rig?

As far as I know, this is only a visual “problem”. The shape may be misaligned when posing/animating and could lead to confusion but the rig still works correctly

    Hey Carlos,

wod is correct in the functionality aspect of this.  It only 'visually' affects the way it is displayed in the viewport.  Its position, scale and orientation is displayed at a different spot.  This visual aspect has no effect on the functionality of the rig at all.

In the context of the tutorial however, the main issue I had was that I had created to the widget before overriding the display.  This meant I had to adjust the widget a second time.  If I had of overridden before adding the widget, I could have just adjusted the widget shape once. Nobody likes doing things more times than necessary.
