Recommendation on camera rig

I'm adding this as a topic on this course because it was the first thing that came to mind when I watched this tutorial.

It's a pretty easy rig to create, and very useful I would say.

Once you follow along with Wayne's great lessons you might see the use for it too!

Nice. Now I'm going to have to add this to the camera rig armature that I use.

Thanks for letting me know about this nathitappan

This seems helpful........but there's a few things to consider with that set up.

Arg - It's built with separate objects. Each object will have its own animation data. This will make it more difficult to animate, and not have access to the animation tools. (if it was built with an armature it would be so much more flexible)

You also don't just want to be picking a random focal length for all your shots because that's where you stuck your character and you need it to fit.  There are common focal lengths that are used for different types of shots.  If you want your shot to feel correct then you need to learn when to use what length.

Having said that though, I'll have a little bit of a brain storm when I get a free moment and see if someone I know (me) can add some controls to the camera rig setup that doesn't over complicate things.

    Thanks Nathi!

I totally didn't think of the animation data. Oops! I guess it can be kept as a "for simpler scenes" kinda of scenario, but that's about it.

I also totally agree with sticking to common camera and lenses settings, after all that's what I have to use on my day-to-day. I think the only time I feel like "I wish I could make this fit" is when they ask me for social (vertical) versions when it wasn't designed or filmed for that at all. The other bit to consider is that it would change the depth of field and that choice is usually dictated by the story we are trying to tell (and that shouldn't change on a whim).  Although most of the time when I'm resizing things for the social team that wouldn't make a big difference.

Thanks for pointing it out Wayne! That makes a lot of sense!
