How to get good at modeling?

Question Modeling

I just completed the playlist "Your first week with Blender and CG Cookie"

Now, I am not sure what to learn next. I am trying to be good at modeling. I mean complex modeling. I plan to learn texturing or lighting or shading later as I know how to carry on.

So my question is, which playlist or course should I start watching next to learn advance modeling?

I think it's like with everything else. just do it, look in your room for an object or somewhere else and just recreate it and if it doesn't look good, do it again. But you also have to be honest with yourself and be aware of your skill level. If you've been learning for a few weeks, I wouldn't recommend a complex mesh because it will be too frustrating.
I have learned that the challenges then come naturally. The man “Wes Burke” started a weekly challenge here on CGCookie a few weeks ago. Simply go to Community tab on the site and then set the filter to CGC Modeling Chalenges.

And don't put yourself under pressure, you don't have to be the best straight away. Just do it, have fun and the progress will come naturally. What I learned recently. Slow means accuracy and accuracy means speed. I think that applies to a lot of things.

    Hey Tarek23
Good question, and a question most beginners ask themselves.

To get good at Blender, what you need most is practice, then more practice, and if you have the time, practice some more.

A must watch is the fundamentals playlist. New updated fundamentals courses drop next week (6th August), that's nine new course for Blender version 4.2 in one day. 🎉

After the fundamentals, take a look at the SESSIONS, the SESSIONS courses are a series of smaller projects within the course, each project can be completed fairly quickly, rather than one long project course. Ideal for practice sessions.

There is the Just for fun Blender projects playlist, also a great resource for practice.

That should keep you busy for a while, from there it depends on what interests you most and what discipline you want to pursue further.
For example if you want to create game assets, we have a playlist for that...
    It's called Game Asset Creation.

    Happy Blending!

As Adrian said, it's all about the practice. I think what I only have to add is the Pothead course, it's such a complete one:

And never underestimated the classics, old courses have so much timeless knowledge in them, even though the Blender UI might look different, it is of little consequence:

    https://cgcookie.com/courses/introduction-to-hard-surface-modeling

Same goes for the Modeling Bootcamp, it's filled with gold:

As others have said, there are new fundamental courses coming out, but go through the old courses as well. It's all good information, and knowledge to fill your head. Regardless of Blender version, all of the classes are still relevant.

The biggest thing with blender is just keep working at it. Pick some courses and work through them. A lot of blender is doing things over and over again and then you start to notice repetition and you start to understand things. Things will become easier as you work away at it.
