I got tripped up with face loop selection. Sharing this tip here in case it's helpful for anyone else. When using Alt/Opt-LMB in face select mode to select a loop of faces, the direction of the loop depends on whichever edge you click closest to. I kept clicking blindly in the "middle" of the face and wondering why CTRL-Alt/Opt wasn't changing the direction of my face loop selection, before I finally figured this out.
I don't know why, but sometimes when I try to attach an image to a post, it prompts me to enter an image URL and click 'Insert Image', but then nothing happens. Other times, I can just insert an image directly into the post. But anyway, here's a markup to illustrate:
