Finished topology. Having second thoughts about my topology. Feedback?

Question Modeling

Hey. I need to borrow you guys' eyes for this. My goal right now is to get a good human mesh/topology so that I can use for future projects and would not have to redo anything ever again on the base level. The number of times I had to start all over from sculpting skin details to basic topology again has been numerous. And that is because one: the mesh had too many subdivisions and two: because the mesh just looked like a mannequin and lacked human definition. So here now I am doing the retopology again, adding more definition to the face. But what turns me off is the eyes. It doesn't look simple in the eyes.

BASE LEVEL (no subdivisions)

I see other advanced human projects with such clean topologies such as this one:

This topology is so good that it had my second guessing my current topology. The eyes look so simple and so easy to work with, whereas mine is pretty choppy.

So I guess my question is, is my current topology something that I can work with without causing any complications in future projects? I am very serious about making high detailed humans and eventually want to get into animation film making with such quality, so any feedback would be appreciated. Currently having a creative block right now. Thanks.

    Well,

For one thing, you divided the yellow hexagon into 4 quads, which creates several 5-sided poles next to each other and destroys the edge flow. Changing it like this, for instance would already improve it:

I highly recommend you take the CGCookie HUMAN Course, if you are serious about making high detailed humans.

I agree with Martin, finish the Human course, but much more important is to try again and again, in other words, practice a lot. If you feel your topology need improvement, if you feel you quite don't have the hang of it, start over and as much as you feel you need to. The key thing here is having grit, nothing worth pursuing is going to be easy. So practice again and again and don't get discouraged, you are leveling up little by little.
