Weight painting stopped working!

Hi, I'm sure there's a simple solution here but I was weight painting a mesh for ages then I guess I hit something and the colours have changed to pastels and nothing has any effect. Any idea how to get back to editing the weights?

I tried Blender 3.5 and 3.4, restarted Blender and the PC.

I think you just have to go into edit mode and select everything with A, when you're back at weight painting everything should be ok.

Could it be, that you have Face Selection Masking enabled?

That means, that only whatever you have selected in Edit Mode, will be paintable...So, like Omar said, selecting everything in Edit Mode, will let you paint as well.
