I like the course so far but I think you move a bit too quickly sometimes. For instance when removing the material from the torus, you say you "move to the materials panel and remove the existing material". I am very much a beginner and haven't worked with materials at all yet so it was hard to keep up, trying to watch the video while doing things myself at the same time. Sometimes you say what to do without actually saying how to do it. Maybe pause a bit in-between steps so us newbies can look back and forth between the video and our own blender window. I'm sure some of this is just part of me being unfamiliar with Blenders interface though. I will keep on learning. :) Playing with lighting has been really cool.

Hi buttercat - I appreciate the feedback! You're right that our curriculum can be difficult to follow along step by step. This is in fact because we intentionally avoid teaching in a 'follow along' kind of way. We believe that method makes it too easy to mimic instead of understand. I also think you're right that part of your frustration is the newness to Blender's interface. Did you watch the video a second time and understand things better?

Yup! Well I usually pause and go back a bit to review a step which helps a lot. I also do get distracted playing around in the program sometimes which is totally on me. I will keep in mind what you said about knowing rather than just replicating.
