Question about Quick Favorites

If I add something to Quick Favorites, is that saved across all projects or just the one I am currently working in?

    Hi Enviritas,

Your Quick Favorites are saved as your Preferences, you'll have them every time you open Blender.. That does mean, that if you don't have Auto Save Preferences enabled, you'll need to Save your Preferences before closing Blender or you'll lose your newly made Quick Favorites.

And when you download a new version of Blender, supposedly all your preferences come over to the new one all set, but I have never had that behavior from Blender. When I download a new version, I always have to manually set all my preferences back.

When you first open a new Blender Version, there is an option on the Splash Screen to use the Preferences of the Version before that one. Click the Splash Screen away and you lose that possibility.

You can still move the old Preferences to your new Version by hand; it is just a .blend file (like your Startup file), but you'll have to find it first. If you feel adventurous, here is described where files are, depending on your OS: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/3.4/advanced/blender_directory_layout.html

Oh no it's those scary looking coding words. But yeah I think it sounds easy enough. Next time I download a new Blender, I'll hit you up so we can try that. Just so I know how to do it, because right now my preferences are, enable F2, enable Node wrangler, change render to keep UI and that's it.
