I decide to go on a hike by myself. Something I am not used to. The whole day was normal, trees and bushes engulf my surroundings. I enjoy being outdoors in the wilderness. Nothing seems strange, that is until I make my way back to the car. I figured I had been hiking long enough, the sky is already getting dark and I need to get back, fast. What is odd is I don't recognise the trail going back. I begin to panic.
Night has already taken over and all I have is a flashlight and no clue on how to get back. I know it is already too late and too dangerous to keep going through the perilous forest. I begin to worry that I would have no shelter for the night when almost luckily enough, I stumble across an old cabin. It is dark apart from the glow of a couple of lanterns. I know it is the only place I could rest until daylight, especially since my flashlight is running out of battery.
And then...
The Challenge: Horrific Habitation
Inspired by the new CG Cookie course Astray.
A cabin in the woods, a haunted house, interior or exterior, create a horrifying habitation scary video.
Your short video (approx. 30 to 60 seconds), will be of a fearsome blood-curdling scene from the first person perspective, think the narrative technique of the found footage genre.

Criteria
- An interior or exterior habitation scene
- Good quality modeling and texturing
- Effective camera work
- Good use of volumetric fog / smoke
- A good standard of lighting paired with volumetric fog to create an eerie atmosphere
