Unable to select - Help

Question

I accidentally hit some keys to turn on the input box.

What is it and how do i turn it off/on?

The cursor is now a circle and I can't select anything.

Hi Wil gghsc3ne ,

some of the Active Tools (like the Select Tool), have severeal options; they have a tiny triangle at the bottom right of the button that gives access to a dropdown list:

You have it set to Select Circle now.

Hey Will,
To get your box select back, you can click and hold the left mouse button, hover over select box, and release the mouse button,
Or from the select menu click on box select,
Or just right click in the 3d viewport.
Depending on if you are a left click or a right click person.

And you probably hit the W key on the keyboard by mistake and it changed your tool. That happened to me at the beginning and I too freaked out. So as you can see you can keep hitting W to cycle through the selection tools.

Thanks all. I actually went and tried appending the items to a new file. but i can go back to this file now.
