Auto rotation keying

posted to: Animate Freehand: 1

When animating the monster truck rig freehand, the auto rotation isn't being keyed.  The wheels are rotating when I position the rig, but don't rotate when I play the animation. I'm not sure where I went wrong?

    Hey Dan,

It sounds like you may have missed the step of keying all the control bones on frame 1.

With Auto keying turned on and only active keying set enabled from the dropdown, select whole character from the active keying set list, then key everything by pressing 'I' with the mouse in the 3d viewport on frame 1, then change the active keying set to available, move the play head to the frame you want to key and the move the model as required.

    Hope this helps.

    Solution

Also, remember Wayne said that if you rotate pass a certain speed, the wheel might even look stagnate or can even look as if it is rotating backwards. In this lesson:

Did you get this one solved ddanmelt ?

Thanks guys, Omar is correct.  I changed to render mode,  locked the camera view to one of the wheels, then scrubbed through the timeline.  The wheels still didn't appear to be rotating, but the CG logo on the tire was...

Thanks for jumping in all--you guys are the best!
