Hello Again
Along with my Floating Craters question below I also have another issue with a different lesson. When I started my Blender Learning I made a rule to go back and start the project from scratch if I could not work out what the problem was. This has meant that I have started both the Poly Rocket and Press Start projects several times so I'm getting plenty of practice at modelling.
Anyway, this issue with my Press Start console is that I cannot Indent all of my selected faces as one face as per the instructors instructions.
Image 01 shows my selected faces while Image 02 shows what happens when I try to Inset those faces.
Images 03 & 04 shows the instructors selected and inset faces.
My selected faces split into 3 separate faces while the instructors inset as 1 face.
I Is Properly Baffled!
Any ideas, anyone?
Thank you.
My very best,
Jason

Hi again Jason,
that is a classical problem...you have some, so-called 'Double Vertices'. this means that what you see as one area, are actually three separate areas and therefore cannot Inset as one...
The solution is simple: select everything (A) and then press M > Merge > by Distance. You'll get a messsage from Blender, saying something like "Removed 42 Vertices' and then you should be good to go.

Hi Jason.
This can also be a simple operator that you have in On mode. When you use the Inset tool you can tell Blender different ways of doing the inset. When you use any tool actually, in the top left you'll see a helper menu of what hotkeys to use to change the behavior of the tool .
Notice here how the Inset has an Individual (I) option and it is set to Off. So if when using Inset if you hit "I" in your keyboard, the behavior will change.
It will be set to "On" and now it will inset faces individually. Yo may have this option set to On.
Thank you Martin Bergwerf and Omar Domenech. That's very kind of you both to take the time to help. I will try your suggestions and let you know how it goes. My very best, Jason
