Community submissions coming back?

Question

Hi, I was just wondering if there were any plans to implement community submissions back in the new site? I really loved being able to see what others had made on exercises, and seeing the multiple ratings were nice too, it was one of my favorite parts of CGCookie.

Thanks!

Hey there, for the moment we've re-focused exercise submissions to be a private one-on-one experience. Heh, as with most decisions I've had members share they prefer this, and some members prefer to review other public feedback. Both are not wrong.

I'm going to keep an eye on it, and gauge how it goes on the new platform over the next few weeks. One option I've considered exploring: Imagine being able to choose to publish the instructor's feedback. (Make public). Where then other members may chime in as well in some central community way.  Though it's the choice of the person submitting whether to do so.  Could be cool.

Thanks for hanging with us at the Cookie, and more stuff to come!

Understandable, it's tough to decide and please everybody. Thanks for clarifying!

I'll spend more time looking at the gallery instead. :)

I like the idea of one to one grading by the instructor, I see it as invaluable critique.

However I do see the benefit for others to view and read the instructors notes.

Perhaps grading should be solely done by the instructor, but views and maybe comments only is an option.

I have seen previously on the more technical exercises, such as those in the animation bootcamp, graded and passed because the animation is cool, not because the animation is technically good.

Just to chime in, I really liked seeing others' submissions as well. But if you are able to implement both the private and public option, that seems like a great idea.

I also really enjoy seeing others submissions and feedback.  I really like Adrians idea.
