This looks great! Keep up the good work 👍👍👍

I keep meaning to do that rocket launch course it looks like a lot of fun!

  • turtlelearns3d replied

Thank you, Keith! After seeing your work, I think you'll fly through it. I'll be on the lookout for your rocket project! 😄

I started the room exercise today! I'm working big to small, cant wait to add the fun little stuff. Everything looks so tiny and cute it makes me want to scream. xD

  • turtlelearns3d replied

WIP 2! So the goal is to fill the room with things in my life that I love, but progress is slow. Flipping through edit and object mode makes my brain scramble. I also keep sabotaging myself by accidentally hitting hotkeys...at least I'm learning new hotkeys, lol.

    Nice work Turtle!

Your room is coming along nicely.

    One question!

    Why Turtle?

Your progressing at a great pace learning 3D.

Keep it up, your doing great.

Thank you, Adrian! This site is helping me so much.

Well, I don't know why it started, but my mom would always call me Turtle. I also had a couple of friends who didn't know my mom or each other but also decided to call me Turtle... so I guess I either look like a turtle or act like a turtle? I never did ask them, but I am pretty introverted, so I'm hoping it's the latter. Also, I like turtles, lol!

  • adrian replied

    It's a nice nickname!

Turtles are friendly, likeable and intelligent creatures.

    Perhaps that's why.

  • turtlelearns3d replied

Oww, thank you! I hope so! ^^

Nice work! My sibling and I had bunk beds for a little while growing up, so this brings up fond memories. Nice plant too, I've always shied away from creating organic stuff like that with traditional mesh modelling.

  • turtlelearns3d replied

Thanks jammingammon! Same, bunk beds are the best.

I definitely feel more comfortable with hard surface modeling but I thought I would try stepping out of my comfort zone. Im glad you like it. ^^

  • turtlelearns3d replied

Well, I have not been good with uploading my progress pics here... I want to do better with that especially after reading the recent article on Keith Tomlinson's awesome work and how diligent he is.

So I've been slowly working on the treasure chest course and I looooved it! Kent Trammell was so good at explaining so many new concepts to me. I've seen a lot of modeling videos, but I hardly ever see any that go through UVs, texturing, lighting, and compositing. I really enjoyed that. I messed up hard on a lot of things throughout the course, but I learned so much. I'll definitely be referring back to it.

    Very nice work Turtle!

    1 love

It's been a while, but I'm back and starting with Kent Trammell's sculpting course. ^^ I really hope to get the hang of remesh/dyntopo after this.  01_render.png
