Why is the effect of "Bump Texture Painting" not displayed in the "UV Editor"?

I'm wondering why I don't see any effect of my "Bump Texture Painting" displayed in the "UV Editor"?

Are the differences in brightness maybe so subtle that they can't be made visual and only show up when affecting the surface normals?

PS: If I save different versions of the "Bump Texture" as for example Piero_BUMP1, Piero_BUMP2 etc., the "UV Editor" only shows the name "Piero_BUMP" (see lower left corner in the image above). This doesn't even change if I try to load another texture in the "UV Editor". Does it have to do with the "Texture Slots" in the upper right corner of the image above?

I've painted a subtle test stroke directly on the texture in the "UV Editor" and the visual effect on Piero in the "3D Viewport" is significant! Maybe I can change something in the "Shading Editor"?

Diminishing the "Distance" value in the "Bump Node" of Piero's material in the "Shading Node Editor" reduces the visual depth effect of the "Bump Texture":

Reducing the "Strength" in the same node can soften the effect further.
