Donut With Sprinkles Final

Andrew Price at Blender Guru invited me over for one of his signature donuts with sprinkles. Actually he didn't invite me over (I don't know him and he doesn't know me) and he wasn't even home (but that lock picking course I took really came in handy). After rummaging around his kitchen, I found one of his donuts and a filthy plate (wash dishes once in a while, Andrew!) and sat down at his kitchen table for a snack. Fortunately, I brought my own wicker coffee cup since I couldn't find one in the cabinet. Here's what I snacked on. I just finished his 2026 version of his tutorial on the sprinkled donut and decided to give it a shot. I learned a few things I didn't know (which is always the case with his tutorials). The dirty plate is a combination of Ryan King Art's Procedural Materials pack and the AgedFX addon. The coffee cup was also using one of Ryan's materials (Waffle Cone). Overall, nothing special. Just wanted to throw something in the gallery. Hopefully, it will inspire and encourage a Blender newbie to keep at it when they feel frustrated while trying to learn.

Nice fake story to go with a realistic donut. Perhaps the only feedback is the lighting, feels very under-powered. Nothing a bit of post-production wont fix really, it's easy, getting those pixel values up it's a piece of... donut.

Hey, Omar. Thanks. Can you be more specific? I agree the lighting is not what I was hoping for. I was going after early morning sunlight coming in the window as I sit at the local diner. I looked at it several times but couldn't quite figure out what I wanted to change with the lighting to make it better. I trust your opinion so, if you have time, let me have it. Don't hold back. Just be aware that in spite of my tough talk, if you're TOO tough, I won't invite you to come with me on my next raid of Andrew's kitchen and I'll eat ALL the donuts I find.
