My TYPE results Final

1 love

Just a project to share my TYPE course results.

I should have them in order from top to bottom if I figured this out correctly... For all the ones with a word or name, I used my username that I use a lot online, Grey Deepy.

First one is the Blurred Lines. I used my username that I use a lot online for the text. I used Cycles on this one. I think I accidentally forgot to turn off the actual text to the camera, so the text shows through, but like the results anyway :D

Second one is Glass tiles. Another cycles render. For the first attempt, I forgot to set the scratch texture to non-color data. Just doing that one thing makes a HUGE difference in the results. Changed and tweaked the textures for the final look.

The rest of the projects are all rendered using Eevee instead of Cycles.

Third is Molten Reveal. For that one, I figured out how to rotate the control so that I could do the burn out as well as the burn in.

Fourth is Fill Switch. For that one, i used a wave texture loop (ala Ducky 3D's motion graphics course) to move the text rather than using the control animation. Gave this one a bit of a different look :D Here I provided the "quick" version, but I have a longer slow version that pans more slowly so you can tell what the object is (which is a coin version of the logo).

For the last project, instead of doing key caps, I thought about using Scrabble tiles -- something that would use the same idea of adding random text letters, but in a different type of project.  I think I know what to do for the numbers for scrabble tiles too, but just need to take time to figure out the how.

On almost all the projects, I think I spent more than the 2 hours.. probably closer 3-4 hours, but most of that extra time was in sourcing textures, figuring out the bits that were different from the "course" example, tweaking results, and rewatching bits of the course when I was working out what to do in places.

The type result with the Scrabble reminded me of my aunt, she used to play that word puzzle game all the time with another sweet old lady.
