Using a premade scene (free online) I wanted to learn to play around with objects a bit. But mainly figure out how to get light to pass thru the window and land on the wall in such a way where it felt like a college student is getting ready to spend the night studying as the sun is setting. The black cat is warming the seat up in anticipation for a long night ahead.
I used roughly 4-5 lights for this scene. I wanted to keep it simple to mimic the isometric shapes and textures.
I ran into an issue with cameras doing what I wanted and ended up losing most of my progress. So I decided to just put this one down for now and maybe come back to something similar in the future.
My overall goal was achieved: play with lights thru a window, get a warm feeling across, and have some objects for the light to interact with and have shadows play on the wall.
Yeah it turned out really cozy. To me it feels like the sun is going down for some reason, like it's the end of a long day and you can finally get to rest a bit. Maybe the only feedback is that the objects are intersecting the rug on the floor. Little details like having the chair a bit to its side because of the rug give scenes much more liveliness.
