Here is my attempt at recreating the iconic .454 Casull from one of my favorite shows, Hellsing Ultimate. I was so close to giving up in the beginning as I thought I didn't have the necessary skill, experience or knowledge to do it justice but I was having too much fun to stop and I figured I'd keep going just to see what I was capable of. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it exactly like in the show but it turned out way better than I was expecting.
I made it before signing up for CGCookie so I wasn't able to apply anything I learned in the modeling fundamentals course, but I went back and changed the lighting using what I learned in the lighting fundamentals course. I think it looks better than it did before but I've honestly never paid much attention to lighting before so I don't really know whether it's good or not.
The 1st image is the original and the 2nd is with the updated lighting.
Nice, work. At first when I glanced at these renders I thought of Dante's pistols.
Looking very good. I thought Alucard was Dracula's son in Symphony of the Night, I didn't know he was on other shows.
Thanks. Yea, Hellsing Ultimate takes inspiration from the original story, like Alucard is still a vampire that hunts other vampires but it goes in a completely different direction. Think the original but with big guns and the sort of over the top action story you can only find in anime.
