Rabbit Hole - My Minimalist Sessions Hallway Final

4 loves

This was my submission to the Sessions - Minimalist course, the hallway chapter.

Definitely inspired by Kubrick and Hitchcock with their iconic Cosmos Zoom and Vertigo Zoom. A little of Lewis Carroll and his rabbit hole, and definitely how my brain feels after watching Jonathan's Geometry Nodes course 😂

At first I made it 100 frames like Kent, but it felt a little short to really sink in the vertigo effect. Not sure the extended version feels too long now? Either way, the linear extrapolation made it a breeze to extend, so why not?

Let me know what you think!

  • Cool: it takes a lot of heavy partying to see a hallway like that.🤣

  • This is lovely! And awful (in a good way). It makes me queasy.

Doesn't seem too long to me

  • Ah, the good classic kind of horror, very nice. I like the longer version, extends the vertigo feeling, which is well captured. The sepia look goes well with it too.

Thanks Sascha! I guess I like the longer version for the vertigo effect too, but should change a bit the keyframing of the lights and perhaps pay better attention (maybe keyframing it) to the texture mapping. I feel like the longer version with the linear extrapolation gets goofy after a few seconds, and since it was an after thought and my "session" was done I didn't quite polish that.
