Favorite Spot WIP 2 Work In Progress

A little further along on my ambient moody favorite spot. I really need to get something outside the window rather than just a "big featureless sidewalk"

shegeek - Thanks. I'm having fun with it.

The last image is a screenshot.
The new materials really start to bring the scene together. . . but that render time.

    I messed something up.

Ugh, did something that totally destroyed the render time of this scene.

    Not sure what.

I added on point light in the middle of the room to get a little illumination towards the stools and "kick bricks" under the glass.

I also added a floor, simple texture to the floor, and texture to the seats.

Now render times are in the hours. Gotta figure out what I did.

Probably doesn't help that I made the windows double paned.

I think the stools need to be a little taller and need a glossy wood grain veneer, otherwise I'm pretty happy with them.

Added 2 more after the gray block out.

    Interior, now with stools!

Exterior, you can see the stools there too, and the upper floors have interior walls now. See the featureless off-white walls! (No more brick through the windows.)

    I really need:
1 - Some walls and blinds upstairs
    2 - A "good" sidewalk/street
3 - A few buildings you can see through the glass. Those will probably remain simply boxes with images overlaid on top of them. It ends up looking surprisingly good and my focus is on the shop.

I'll probably attempt the trees and the Christmas Lights though.

The first image is a picture with more or less the effect I'm going for.

The second image was an accidental render with the 1st image as an image plane, and some of my elements like the counter and lamp showing through.

The other three represent the progress so far.

That 45 degree entry way ended up taking more time than it should've. I had more trouble than I want to admit getting things to line up.
