My submission for the Halloween "Scream" challenge.
My original idea was meant to be a young lady retreating up the steps as a group of shadowy figure congregated at the foreground of the image, at the entrance of a door. Meanwhile more elements of mischief would be present in the image, including a teetering chandelier.
Didn't quite get there, as you can see. My final image is just the young lady retreating up the stairs, presumably from some ominous presence. Still, I had a lot of fun, attempting to design a character, and playing with some basic architectural elements.

This is nice and creepy. It is always hard. to determine how much you can get done in. the allotted time.
@adrian2301 and @theluthier thanks for the encouragement. Hoping by next halloween my execution will catch up to my vision!
Well done jammingammon
We all see things in the shadows and feel the fear inside.
Winner 🏆
I see a lot of potential with this one! As you say in the description, the original vision wasn't quite accomplished. If so I can see this being contender for first place!
In my opinion the lighting could have been a lot creepier, including the intended foreground shadows. Generally it's a bit too illuminated to be "creepy". Lower lighting, more dramatic gradients, overall darkening the vibe and drawing attention to a designed focus point - lighting would be MVP here.
Love the effort and vision! 👏
Nice
She looks like something has spooked her.
I like it. 👌
