After submitting my exercise and receiving some feedback I decided to immediately act on it, adding more objects and increasing the brightness in the room. Here is the result.
Just as a side note if I shouldn't be posting every little thing I do while learning please someone let me know. I'd hate to be filling the gallery with the wrong type of content.

Its ok to post finished work here. However the best place for this maybe in your own progress thread in the forum for feedback and monitor your progress.
