This is the first time I have submitted an image anywhere. This is an ad I am working with. Any critique is desired. I just want to know what you think or improvements I should make. Don't worry, I am not a sensitive artist. Say it like it is!
I have been working with Blender for 4 years now, at a hobby level. It is just now that I am getting some results I like and so share them with you.
2200x1200, 256 samples, no more than 2 subdivisions, under 6 min render time on an i3 3.1 GHz with a Nvidia 660 Ti.
I was pleased to get these results.
I have learned that proper topology, material definitions and hdr lighting can produce great results without huge resolutions, thousands of samples and and long render times.
Awesome Render.....I'm sorry to say though that I have no idea what the product is or does. (Age gap?) Is it a music player?
Forrest, Glad you like it! Thanks for the encouragement. It took a while before I realized how I can make a good pic without just throwing 2-3000 samples at it and waiting an hour or more for the results. Since later, this will be made into an animation, I had to find the method to reduce the per frame time.
Hey Dustwave, thanks for noticing the reflections. It took some work to keep them and the shadows from being to noticeable and still have some pop.
The tag line does fit the product if you are familiar with it. Thanks for you comment Edouard.
Four years! wow!! I've been at it for Three, myself! I keep telling myself I'm going to build something photo realistic but I'm a surrealist at heart so most my work is pretty stylized! I'm not sure about the ad part but that's an incredible looking render and, if you can pull that off on a resolution budget, then I imagine you'll be cranking out some sweet pieces!! Looks great! keep it up!! :)
Came out good, nice depth of field, and love the subtle reflections.
Beautiful picture ! Clear and precise. You know what you are doing, sir.
My only objection concerns the tag line. I'm not sure about it. It sounds a bit cheap. An idea : "The SideWinder. Which side are you on ?" (with the "are you on" in a different color and/or font)...
