I created this image with GIMP 2.8 (can't afford Photoshop) as part of an exercise from a book named: Digital Painting Techniques: Masters Collection. I started the illustration with a very quick black & white sketch and slowly worked my way up with details. After deciding that I was content with the results, I proceeded to colorize the image and use the hue-saturation feature. I then created an overlay layer to re-color some areas for lighting purposes and further details. This is the best illustration I have created thus far with only 5 weeks worth of digital painting experience. Please feel free to leave a comment/critique.
