An illustration of one of the most visually amazing dreams I've ever had. I explained it in my old Sketchbook post:
"I had a rather interesting dream last night.... I was stranded out in space, standing on this metallic platform with a bunch of rubble and remains. There were two space ships, one full-sized one which had engines that would run but was otherwise broken and unusable. The other one was a space-capable helicopter, which I didn't know how to fly. I'd apparently just gotten to that platform and was looking around a bit when I found a gun just lying there. When I went to pick it up apparently my hands slipped and I wound up shooting it twice. From the gun came two full-sized man-made universes. The first one appeared far away, so much so that I could barely see the spiral shape of it. The second one, however, appeared dangerously close.
Realizing my mistake I remember successfully contacting home to ask for instructions on how to fly the copter. They were able to see my video feed, so I'd turned around toward the helicopter while I was asking for help. Before they could start instructing me though, I suddenly saw the lights and heard the engines on both spacecrafts die at the exact same moment. The propellers on the helicopter slowed to a stop rather quickly, but barely a moment later they seemed to spring to life again. I recognized that something was terribly wrong though, because the engines and the lights were still off. If I'd have had something in my hand at the time, I would have dropped it the moment it dawned on me what was going on.
I turned back around, saying "no" repeatedly into the microphone and ran to a doorway that was still standing to look at how close I'd gotten to the universe I'd manifested. I realized at that moment that it was too late, that I wasn't getting out of this. Instead of waiting until I got sucked in and killed in who knows what way, I panicked and decided to take matters into my own hands. I ran to the other side of the platform and essentially jumped off, knowing that I was jumping out of the air bubble the platform had somewhat created and into the vacuum of space, where I died immediately.
It was a dream that played off of an actual experience I've had with terror and panic, making the dream truly a mix of terrifying and beautiful."
