This is my first time attempting an art contest.
In thinking about what a dark cupid represents, I couldn't get away from the human element and the necessity to depict it. The moment I chose was of love betrayed. The moments before were of the anger, jealousy, self doubt, and rage that accompanies it, but what immediately follows is the collapse. A broken shell, stabbing at memories in hopes the anger would fill the desperation and loneliness caused by love lost. The shadow cupid's role in this is one of absorption - a bottomless pit into its black heart, consuming emotion and leaving the bleak grayness behind.
