I made the whole thing in bender and rendered it in cycles. I first made the Mech (robot) separate and then wanted a scene for it to be in. I experimented with lots of different scenes until I decided to go with a futuristic, workshop type look. I used the Blender compositor for post effects and some minor Photoshop work at the end.
