This is my work in progress of Ryan Wieber's "Novus" lightsaber prop available through Sabershop.com. He kindly included an orthographic blueprint-type image on the site, so I decided to give it a whirl.
It's still a work in progress, as the title says...I need to add the cutouts around the knobs and on the back half of the saber, but I figure I'll wait until the official release of Blender 2.62 next week (or so) so I can use the remesh modifier with some booleans. Also the aluminum knob needs a pattern on the side that I want to do with a normal map, which Cycles will now support.
I welcome any and all feedback!
