I hadn't gotten a chance to elaborate on my inspiration for this.
Recently I had gone to a native moon ceremony, in which we gave thanks and praised theothers around us. We sang native songs and drummed and danced and it was the most amazing experience I'd ever had. The large topic of the evening had been us women, and how strong we are and must be. How we face trials and hardships and how we emotionally capable of being warriors and in general how we give life.
When I heard of this contest, that ceremony came to mind, and so it became the center of my piece. I didn't get the chance to really add in all of the inspired elements, but I'm glad I at least got the main element which was the Mother. :)
