Trying my hand at a portrait painting, I had always tried to stay away from drawing people in fear of totally messing up their features. I've never been much of a photo referencer either but for this I used some photos of my friend and her pet raccoon to go by and looked at some of the portrait artwork posted on here as well as looking through Papaninja's work for artistic inspiration. Learning lots on this website, I thank CG-Cookie for branching me out of my comfort zone and giving me the tools to improve. :)
